Postpartum doula

About Casey

Hello, and welcome! My name is Casey, and I am a compassionate and dedicated postpartum doula, here to support you during one of the most transformative times of your life—welcoming your baby. As a mother of four adult children and a proud grandma to two grand puppies, I have deep empathy for both the joys and challenges that come with parenthood. With over 25 years of experience supporting families in a variety of capacities, I’m excited to bring that knowledge and care to my work as a postpartum doula.

My journey began in 1993 when I moved to Calgary after graduating high school to pursue a career supporting individuals with developmental delays. Over the years, I had the privilege of working in group homes, providing care for adults and children, and later transitioning to running a day home so I could be home with my own children. I’ve always been drawn to helping others and creating a sense of belonging, and I brought that same passion into my role as a supportive caregiver for individuals in my home.

As a mother who homeschooled my children for 12 years, I understand how critical it is to create a nurturing and organized environment for both children and parents. My experience has taught me that support—whether in the form of encouragement, practical help, or emotional care—is invaluable during those early days and months of parenthood. I’ve volunteered in my community in various ways, from managing soccer teams to decorating for church events, and I’ve always been driven by the desire to help others thrive.

It wasn’t until after the birth of my fourth child that I became personally familiar with postpartum anxiety. While I had always been a caregiver and helper, experiencing anxiety myself after childbirth gave me a new perspective on how deeply these challenges can impact a new mother. Navigating the ups and downs of postpartum recovery with anxiety was not easy, but it led me to become even more passionate about supporting other parents in similar situations. After that experience, I knew that becoming a doula was my calling.

I enrolled in the Doula Canada course and couldn’t be happier with my decision to pursue this path. My own journey with postpartum anxiety makes me especially sensitive to the emotional and mental health needs of new parents. As a doula, I’m here not just to help with baby care but to offer a listening ear, provide reassurance, and help you find strategies for managing anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. I believe in creating a safe space where new parents can feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Whether you’re struggling with postpartum anxiety, navigating the physical recovery of childbirth, or just feeling overwhelmed by the many changes that come with a new baby, I’m here to support you. My goal is to help you feel confident in your abilities as a parent, to encourage self-care, and to provide practical and emotional support tailored to your unique needs.

When I’m not supporting new families, you’ll find me paddleboarding, hiking, walking my dogs, reading, or enjoying a little ice cream and brunch—especially when the two go together!

I’m excited to be a part of your journey and to support you during this special time. You don’t have to do it alone—let me help you navigate the early days of parenthood with confidence, care, and compassion.
