About Deanna

Deanna is a coffee-loving, momma to two, an 14-year-old girl and a 11-year-old boy who keep her on her toes. She loves to read, garden, camp, and spend any time she can in the outdoors.

Growing up, Deanna always loved being around and helping to care for little ones. Whether it was helping her mother or caring for the children of family and friends, she always felt right at home in the caregiver role. This desire to help and care for others eventually led her to a career as a Nursing Attendant working in a Neuro Rehabilitation unit, assisting patients as they worked through their individual recovery processes. While she loved being a part of the Nursing profession, she eventually left her role to embark on a more personal journey - becoming a mom to two amazing kiddos.

A year before having her first child, Deanna and her husband relocated to Newfoundland for business and adventure. This meant leaving behind her support network of family and friends. Although raising a family on their own was challenging, it helped steer her towards her true calling – supporting new mothers as they begin their own adventures.

Several years after her second was born, she decided it was time to follow her passion and enrolled in the DONA International Birth Doula training program. She knew she wanted to assist other mothers and families in getting all the support they needed during this exciting time in their lives. From experience, she understands that the birthing and postpartum process can feel overwhelming at times, and it is impossible to know what to expect. As a doula, it is her mission to help you through your journey and provide the support and encouragement you need to have a confident, and empowering experience.

To complement her role as a doula, she is also a Level 3 Reiki Master.
